Susurrus is a black-and-white photobook capturing the dense, echoing rhythms of the jungle in Ba’Kelalan, Borneo. Combining analogue photography with soundscapes accessible via QR codes, the book invites you into an immersive, sensory experience of nature that is both calm and chaotic, intimate and untamed.
 
Shot during time spent living with a local family, this project reflects on trust, place, and listening, where silence is never truly silent, and belief becomes a compass.
 
Each copy is handmade and printed on demand. Therefore the shipping will be around 3 weeks as production of a book takes a little more than a week. You will get an email once the production starts and finishs. 

70% of proceeds will go directly to support the Ba’Kelalan community and their continued efforts to protect the rainforest from deforestation.
 
It is optional to buy this book with a print. I got three options, Option 1 is with a small 8x10" handprinted in the darkroom image of a chosen image of the book. Option 2 is with a 10x12" handprinted C-type colour image from the jungle which is not shown anywhere else. Option 3 is with a A4 size digital print on sustainable bamboo paper of an image of choice. If you have any specific image that you want please put that down in the additional information when buying.
