Workshop on creating site-specific work using sustainable darkroom practices and engaging with the landscape. 

 

In this all day workshop you will be introduced to the possiblities of sustainable darkroom printing as part of your practice whereby we specificly use local seaweed from the area. It will focus on developing film, creating a recipe to use for your specifc film, printing in the darkroom and ways to think about your surrounding landscape as part of your project. Eventhough it will be with seaweed, this course gives your the starting point for experimentation with other plants find the best recipe for your work.

10am - 6pm with lunch break

 

10am - 1pm :

Develop film with seaweed and how to prepare a sustainable darkroom recipe

 

2pm - 6pm : 

Printing with Seaweed and How to approach the landscape for an artwork

Max 6 Persons

 

There will be 120 film to process on the day, but if you have any film that you are not precious about please bring them along. Note that there is change they won't come out due to the unpredictability of seaweed. Paper will also be available, but bring your own if you want to print more. 

 

When ordering you'll receive a PDF with a refresher on how to do film developing and sheets to take notes on during the course.
